“For all its “specificity” to particular places and times, the above project is and shoud be envisioned as a beginning, not a conclusion, as demonstration of principles, not a prescription. Its role is heuristic, opening up new terrain, posing needed questions as architecture encounters complex new conditions of living, and showing that architecture can actively participate in the changes underway and not merely express them post facto.”
