(Studio Pei Zhu in collaoration with vague)
In the process of the establishment of the first Botanical Garden in Luang Prabang, Lao PBR, Rik Gadella invited studio Pei-zhu among other famous architects to re-think the notion of the “pavillion” and “garden-folly” and to develop a design for a non-specific pavillion, which would be exhibited around the world and possibly sold to collectors to raise funds The Phad Tad Ke Folly proposal is an attempt to redefine the meaning of the garden folly in the modern times and thus the relation between human and nature. This relation, as well as, the balance between positive and negative forces in the universe are the main focal points of Taoism, a native Chinese philosophy.
