It’s the First Fridays event of the month. In the heavily humid night, Nouvelle Vague are playing live in the Guggenheim. The Clash turns to bossa-nova luring a sweating audience high on St. Germain cocktails;it is this kind of high that doesn’t mind the blunt reverberation of the music in the tubular space. On the ramps-no drinks allowed- there is more noise than sound, it fuses with the aura of the exhibits, it flows back in the void, leading the gaze to stunning views.
(A wasted college girl -high heels inevitable- dances awkwardly next to the “White Square” by K. Malevitch.)
The interiority of the institution attacked by a random crowd, it looks more like killed animal on the highway,
gutted.
Alcohol spilt all over the polished floor.
Leisure conquers the academic, it invades an architectural symbol, designifying the atmosphere of a high art institution.
If in the 60s the city was a place for riots, in the new millennium, its institutions are the interiors where you can probably get free drinks(if you can forge a member id card).
